GHOST STORY #006

GHOST STORY #006

"Day Shift"

It happened in the afternoon.

The arcade was open.
Lights on.
Music playing.
Children laughing.

Nothing about the day felt wrong.

A staff member went to clean the restroom around 2:10 PM.
Routine check.
In and out.

The left stall was unlocked.

That shouldn't have been possible.

Inside, everything looked normal.
Clean floor.
Empty toilet.

Except for the mirror.

Someone had written on it with a finger.

The message was faint, like it had been wiped away again and again.

"You're early."

The staff member stepped back, confused.
He checked the time on his phone.

02:17 PM.

Behind him, a toilet flushed.

He spun around.

All stalls were empty.

The arcade outside went quiet for just a second—
every machine pausing at once.

Then everything resumed.

Sounds.
Lights.
Laughter.

The mirror was clean again.

No message.

That evening, the staff reviewed the schedule.

No one was assigned to clean the restroom at 2:17 PM.

And since that day, anyone working the afternoon shift avoids the left stall.

Because sometimes, in the middle of the day,
when the arcade is full of people…

The lock still turns.
